Blue Yonder named Gartner warehouse leader for 18th time

Tue, 9th Jun 2026 (Today)

Blue Yonder has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems, marking the 18th consecutive time it has appeared in the Leader category.

The assessment was based on Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. Blue Yonder said it was also one of two companies listed as a Leader across three Gartner Magic Quadrant reports covering supply chain planning for discrete industries, transportation management systems and warehouse management systems.

Warehouse management has come under closer scrutiny as operators contend with labour shortages, higher operating costs and continued disruption. In response, software providers have added artificial intelligence tools, automation links and broader integration across logistics systems to help warehouse operators improve visibility and co-ordination.

Blue Yonder said its warehouse management product is part of its Cognitive Solutions portfolio and runs on the Blue Yonder Platform and its AI data cloud. The system is designed to connect warehouse operations with other systems so users can make decisions across inventory, labour, execution and related processes from a single operating view.

Developed over more than 25 years, the product has seen broad customer adoption. The software averaged one go-live per business day in 2025, according to Blue Yonder.

The offering covers warehouse execution, labour management, yard management, load building and returns processing. Blue Yonder said it has also expanded the product through internal development and acquisitions, including One Network and Optoro.

Recent additions

Recent changes described by the company include machine learning and AI capabilities, such as a Warehouse Ops Agent for real-time monitoring, forecasting and resource orchestration. Blue Yonder also highlighted advanced slotting tools, which help warehouse operators decide where stock should be stored to improve picking speed and use of space.

Another focus area is integration with robotics and automation systems. Streamlined onboarding and software links are intended to improve utilisation and throughput in warehouses that use automated equipment alongside human labour.

Blue Yonder also highlighted its cloud-native architecture, which it said supports customer-specific operating requirements and enables zero-downtime deployments and peak availability. These features have become increasingly important for warehouse operators that need software updates without interrupting fulfilment and shipping schedules.

Executive comment

Wayne Usie, Chief Strategy Officer at Blue Yonder, commented on the recognition and the warehouse market.

"Today's warehouses must operate more autonomously than ever before," Usie said.

"We believe being recognized for the 18th time by Gartner underscores our continued innovation and what our customers are achieving with it-increased agility, speed and precision across their warehouse operations," he added.

Blue Yonder serves more than 3,000 retailers, manufacturers and logistics service providers, according to the company. Its broader business focuses on software for supply chain planning, transportation, warehouse operations and network collaboration.

The latest warehouse management ranking comes as major supply chain software vendors seek to position warehouse systems as a central layer in distribution networks, particularly as businesses try to connect inventory, transport and fulfilment data more closely. Blue Yonder said its latest tools are intended to support that shift through unified decision-making across warehouse operations.
