Humanforce has launched Humanforce Connect, a workforce management operating system for frontline and flexible work. The product combines labour fulfilment tools for internal and external worker pools.
The launch extends Humanforce's workforce management software beyond rostering, time and attendance, compliance, cost tracking and pay outcomes into agency management, private labour marketplaces and contingent worker coordination.
It is aimed at employers in sectors such as healthcare, aged care, hospitality, stadia, retail and logistics, where unfilled shifts and short-notice staffing gaps often push managers into manual processes outside their main workforce systems.
Those gaps typically arise when an organisation cannot fill work internally because of a call-out, a spike in demand, a site credential requirement or a vacancy that must be covered through agencies, labour hire firms or other external sources.
In those situations, organisations often move from their system of record into separate workflows to contact agencies or known workers, adding cost and increasing compliance and productivity risks. Humanforce Connect is designed to keep that process within a single governed system.
Acquisition strategy
The new product has been built through the acquisitions of Emprevo and ShiftMatch, two specialist software providers whose systems now form part of the broader Humanforce platform.
Emprevo provides a private work marketplace for frontline organisations. Its Worker Connect and Agency Connect products let employers manage their own workers, external workers known to the organisation and preferred agencies within a controlled marketplace.
ShiftMatch focuses on relief management and contingent workforce orchestration. Humanforce says the platform uses matching and escalation workflows to coordinate internal relief pools and external workers, while also linking to agency channels.
These additions sit alongside Humanforce's existing workforce management, payroll and compliance capabilities. Together, they create a broader operating model that covers labour demand creation and labour fulfilment in one system.
Humanforce has also previously acquired LiveHire, which added talent pools and candidate identity management to the platform. That deal extended the company's reach further into recruitment and worker identity data before the scheduling and fulfilment stage.
Frontline focus
Humanforce argues that many frontline employers can already build compliant rosters but struggle when those rosters cannot be fully staffed by their own employees. The challenge is not only scheduling work, but controlling how that work is ultimately filled.
This has become more significant in sectors with mixed labour models, where permanent staff, casual workers, agency workers and labour hire operate side by side. Employers in those sectors face pressure to fill shifts quickly while still managing cost, credentials and compliance requirements.
"Most frontline employers do not struggle to build a roster. They struggle to govern how work gets filled once their own workforce is exhausted," said Clayton Pyne, Chief Executive Officer of Humanforce.
"What we are doing with Humanforce Connect is bringing that fragmented external fulfilment chain - private labour networks, agency management, labour hire and contingent orchestration - into one governed operating system. Right person, right place, right time, whether they are your employee, a casual, an agency worker, a labour hire worker, or someone already known to your organisation through a trusted marketplace.
"This is bigger than operational efficiency. Flexibility and high-quality digital work experiences should not be reserved for white-collar workers. Frontline workers deserve the same, without employers having to sacrifice compliance, confidence, cost control or labour productivity. That's what Humanforce Connect delivers."
Humanforce says customers have been asking for a more structured way to manage agency networks and private labour pools, alongside an automated system for making fulfilment decisions as staffing needs change.
"Our customers have consistently asked for two things: a structured way to manage their own labour pools and agency networks, and an intelligent engine to orchestrate fulfilment decisions in real time. Emprevo and ShiftMatch deliver exactly that," said Pyne.
"Combined with Humanforce's workforce management, payroll and compliance capabilities, the result is a connected operating model that gives frontline employers faster coverage, greater cost control and complete visibility over every worker in their operation regardless of whether they are employees, casuals, agency workers, labour hire or trusted marketplace workers."
Humanforce says ShiftMatch has delivered shift fill rate improvements of up to 90% for its customers.
