Kyndryl unveils Agentic AI Framework for secure enterprise AI

Fri, 18th Jul 2025

Kyndryl has launched its Agentic AI Framework, offering a new method for deploying agentic artificial intelligence to work alongside human teams in enterprise environments.

The Agentic AI Framework orchestrates and manages specialised, self-directed, and self-learning AI agents that respond dynamically to changing conditions. These agents are designed to work collaboratively with human operators, who remain involved for oversight and decision making throughout the process.

Enterprise focus

Kyndryl states that its framework allows businesses to adopt, deploy, and scale agentic AI-powered solutions in various IT environments, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or across hybrid setups. The company brings its experience from managing thousands of infrastructure deployments and generating over 12 million AI-driven insights per month through Kyndryl Bridge to support the new solution.

The framework utilises advanced algorithms and secure-by-design AI agents, aiming to make complex data accessible and understandable so that enterprises can translate insights into actionable steps. The architecture is described as compositional, enabling the dynamic assembly of the right agents as required by specific business tasks, which Kyndryl says makes it scalable and reusable.

Security and transparency

The Agentic AI Framework is built with industry-standard encryption protocols, privacy-by-design principles, and a zero-trust security model. This architecture is intended to ensure both security and transparency, with auditable and explainable decision paths that align with organisational values and provide robust access controls.

Integration capabilities

Kyndryl's approach includes compatibility with existing IT environments, allowing integration without the need for disruptive migrations. Organisations with infrastructure already on-premises, or on public or private cloud platforms, can adopt the framework with minimal changes to their current setup.

Industry applications

According to Kyndryl, early adopters include a national government evaluating the framework for large-scale deployment across its IT estate. The government's objectives include enhancing citizen experiences, improving public service delivery, ensuring compliance, and reducing regulatory risks. Aspects of the intended deployment include enabling real-time insights for stakeholders on metrics such as traffic congestion, hospital bed availability, and school attendance.

In the financial sector, an ongoing collaboration with a leading institution sees Kyndryl Consult assessing how the Agentic AI Framework might automate compliance, optimise IT operations, and accelerate service delivery. The aims outlined involve enhancing organisational agility, strengthening cyber resilience, meeting regulatory standards, and driving operational efficiency and innovation over the long term.

Industry context

Kyndryl's announcement comes amid reported stagnation in enterprise AI adoption. Its 2025 People Readiness Report states only four in ten business leaders use AI-powered insights to improve decision making or stimulate growth. In addition, just one fifth of leaders cited AI's use in developing new products and services for customers as a primary case within their organisations.

According to Kyndryl, the Agentic AI Framework has been developed to address business concerns around deploying AI in production environments, especially in areas of trust and security. The framework is self-adaptive, enabling companies to tailor solutions depending on sector-specific requirements and apply the technology across a range of use cases efficiently.

Expert perspective

"As customers worldwide adopt agentic AI to gain a competitive edge, it will increasingly impact the entire technology stack, including applications and business workflows. Kyndryl is uniquely positioned to provide a holistic, infrastructure-first perspective that enables customers to deploy AI with confidence across mission-critical systems with scalability and industry-standard security," said Ismail Amla, Senior Vice President, Kyndryl Consult.
