NetSuite expands to cloud regions in Mumbai & Hyderabad
NetSuite has announced its expansion to Oracle Cloud regions in India, with new data centres to be established in Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Brian Chess, Senior Vice President Technology and AI at Oracle NetSuite, stated, "To meet the demand of our growing customer base in India and expand our footprint of data centres around the world, I'm excited to announce NetSuite is opening data centres in the Oracle Cloud Mumbai Region and the Oracle Cloud Hyderabad Region. This will be the first time NetSuite will run on data centres in India."
He further mentioned that all new NetSuite customers in India will be provisioned in these new regions, and existing customers are set to be migrated in the coming months. "Throughout this process, customers should not notice a difference in NetSuite functionality. NetSuite data centres are always built with the same world-class security, reliability, and performance, regardless of region," Chess added.
The company aims to assist India-based customers by helping them reduce cross-border data transfers and benefit from NetSuite's embedded AI features. Chess elaborated, "By hosting NetSuite in the Oracle Cloud Mumbai Region and the Oracle Cloud Hyderabad Region, we will be able to help India-based customers reduce cross-border data transfers and benefit from NetSuite's embedded AI features. In addition, with two separate data centres in India, we can provide disaster recovery services while helping our customers meet their geographical data storage requirements."
Oracle's Mumbai and Hyderabad regions are part of its global network, designed to provide high security, availability, and disaster protection. Chess noted, "With the addition of these regions, NetSuite is now running in 16 OCI regions in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. This enables NetSuite customers, regardless of size, to access the same benefits that used to only be available to the largest global organisations."
Industry leaders have responded positively to this expansion. Vishal Vijayraj, CEO of Prateek Technosoft, commented, "Oracle NetSuite's expansion in India is a game-changer for businesses seeking agility and compliance. With local data centres, we can now offer enhanced cloud ERP solutions that align with regional regulatory needs and deliver unmatched performance."
Sumit Pachnanda, Founder and CTO of SaaSWorx, observed, "The NetSuite data centre launch in India gives added data residency confidence to customers, especially the ones who have plans to list on public markets. SaaSWorx has been making sure that its customers and prospects are aware of NetSuite's commitment to the Indian market and the data centre launch reinforces this commitment."
Swaminathan Rajagopalan, Chief Executive Officer of Ambient Business Solutions Private Limited, said, "The importance of legal and regulatory compliance can't be understated. NetSuite has made the right decision to offer its data centres in India, much to the delight of its existing customers and partners, and new prospects."
Rajiv Ranjan, Associate Research Director at IDC, concluded, "For organizations in India, complying to local regulations and data residency requirements is of supreme importance besides application performance, security, and functionalities. The mid-market in India represents a significant growth opportunity, with many small-to-medium-sized businesses looking to replace spreadsheets with a cloud-based, AI-powered scalable ERP platform that is simple to use and manage. With NetSuite hosted on two data centres in India, it meets the regulatory, availability, and performance requirements and is well positioned to be the preferred cloud ERP platform of choice in the AI era."
