Showpad launches AI platform for field sales teams

Wed, 15th Apr 2026

Showpad has launched an AI-native revenue effectiveness platform for field sales organisations, combining four sales functions in one product.

The platform brings together content management, sales readiness, buyer engagement and revenue intelligence. It is aimed at field sales teams in sectors including manufacturing, consumer packaged goods and medical devices.

Showpad is positioning the launch around a problem it argues is common in business-to-business sales: time lost to administration and execution gaps between head office strategy and activity in the field. Citing Forrester research, it said sales representatives spend about 14 of 51 working hours each week on administrative work rather than selling.

The issue can be more acute in field-based industries, where staff often work away from desks, manage large product ranges and operate under strict compliance rules. In those settings, meeting notes, product discussions and customer feedback may remain scattered across systems or go unrecorded.

Unified System

At the centre of the launch is what Showpad describes as an end-to-end approach to revenue effectiveness. Instead of relying on separate systems for training, content, customer engagement and sales analysis, it has combined them into one platform built around its GenieAI technology.

The platform is designed to use approved company content, customer interactions and sales behaviour data to automate day-to-day work. According to Showpad, this structure is intended to reduce the risk of AI tools producing inaccurate or misaligned outputs.

The launch includes several new AI-based functions. Genie Assistant is a conversational tool for accessing company information, generating summaries and follow-up materials, and creating reusable agents. Roleplay AI is a coaching tool that simulates buyer conversations and gives feedback to sales staff. Field Meeting AI records meeting outcomes, voice notes and documents, and can update customer relationship management systems after meetings. Authoring AI is designed to create and adapt sales materials while keeping them aligned with company standards.

Showpad said sellers using its system have seen median quota achievement up to 44 per cent higher. It also said customers including BD, Siemens, Unilever and OpenText use its software, and that its customer base exceeds 2,000 organisations globally.

Market Shift

The announcement reflects a broader shift in enterprise software towards operational AI in frontline sales work. Rather than limiting AI to reporting and analytics, vendors are increasingly applying it directly to tasks such as meeting documentation, coaching, content generation and workflow updates.

Field sales has been harder for software providers to standardise because much of the activity happens in person and outside conventional digital systems. That can leave managers with incomplete data on customer interactions and make it harder to enforce consistent messaging and compliance procedures.

"Legacy sales enablement and revenue technologies remain fragmented, while generic AI solutions fail to capture the realities of field selling," said Apratim Purakayastha, Chief Executive Officer, Showpad.

"Showpad is defining a new standard for revenue effectiveness where AI is not just generating insights, but actively driving execution. With GenieAI at the core and deep expertise across more than 2,000 customers, we are helping organizations close the gap between strategy and execution in the field," said Purakayastha.

Analysts tracking sales technology have pointed to a growing focus on execution rather than measurement alone, particularly in sectors where sales representatives spend much of their time visiting stores, hospitals, distributors or industrial sites.

"Field sales have long lacked true revenue effectiveness, with too much value lost between strategy and execution. Showpad's approach demonstrates leadership in bringing AI, data, and execution together to address that gap," said Jim Lundy, Founder, CEO, and Lead Analyst, Aragon Research.

Customer View

One customer cited by Showpad said the platform had replaced a patchwork of tools with a single system for field sales support and coaching.

"Showpad moved us beyond fragmented tools to a unified AI-native system that helps ensure every field rep can perform like our top 10 percent," said Dave Barker, Senior Director of Global Sales Training, Syneos Health. "GenieAI goes beyond information delivery, providing both automation and impactful coaching that lets our selling team focus on high-value buyer interactions."

The latest release is intended for organisations where sales performance depends not only on strategy and content, but also on whether field teams can apply both consistently in customer meetings and follow-up work.
