Skillsoft unveils AI-native platform to boost workforce skills
Skillsoft has announced the launch of its next-generation Skillsoft Percipio Platform, an AI-native solution designed to help organisations manage workforce capability, address skill gaps and link skill development to business outcomes.
Platform features
The new Skillsoft Percipio Platform aims to unify learning, skills intelligence and AI-powered content creation within a single system. According to the company, the platform provides tools for strategic workforce visibility, faster content creation, and a simplified learning ecosystem. Organisations can now access both human and AI capabilities across roles and regions, assisting with talent strategy and supporting internal mobility.
The platform features AI-driven tools to streamline the development of learning experiences, intending to allow teams to respond more rapidly to changing skill needs while maintaining instructional quality. Skillsoft states that the platform's multi-agent AI framework enables integration with existing systems for real-time insights and interactive learning, which supports strategic workforce planning.
Industry context
Data from the World Economic Forum indicates that 40% of workers' core skills are expected to be disrupted by 2030. Many organisations have struggled with fragmented systems such as learning management systems, learning experience platforms, and talent intelligence platforms. This fragmentation is said to impact efficiency, obscure workforce capability, and limit organisational readiness in adapting to an increasingly AI-driven economy.
Executive comments
"Every company is racing to adapt to a reality where skills are the new driver of performance, and most of what they will need in the next few years is still unknown," said Ron Hovsepian, Chief Executive Officer, Skillsoft. "This is more than an HR initiative - it is a strategic business-wide imperative. The next-generation Skillsoft Percipio is built for this moment, putting humans and AI on the same skills map so leaders can see capability in real time, deploy talent with precision, and unlock the full potential of their Skillforce."
The company claims that the next-generation platform is "built AI-native from the ground up" using the same multi-agent architecture as its CAISY solution. The platform brings together learning, real-time skills intelligence, interactive learning experiences, and AI-powered content creation, seeking to grant organisational leaders visibility and control in workforce planning.
AI-powered creation and skills intelligence
A new feature of the platform is LX Design Studio, an AI-powered authoring tool. Skillsoft says this allows organisations to generate custom scenarios, skill benchmarks, and full courses reportedly up to five times faster than traditional methods. The platform also offers a skills-based architecture designed to provide real-time visibility and benchmarking across human and AI capabilities, helping leaders deploy talent and measure outcomes.
Skillsoft adds that planned updates will include tools for workforce transformation, such as talent discovery, internal mobility, and predictive actions using labour market insights, as well as integration with HCM and HRIS systems.
Andy Loomis, Ph.D., Group Vice President, Workplace Solutions at IDC, commented on the significance of the platform's integration of skills intelligence and talent management capabilities.
"Thriving in an AI-enabled workplace demands a shift from outdated, content-driven learning to skills-focused development and learning in the flow of work. By integrating skills intelligence, learning, and talent management in a single system, Skillsoft Percipio will play a pivotal role in enabling organisations to gain a competitive edge in the age of agentic AI."
Skillsoft maintains that its platform provides built-in tracking, personalised learning pathways, and practice-driven experiences to reduce complexity and support organisational compliance requirements. Interactive elements such as human and AI coaching, labs, simulations, and targeted training for leadership and compliance are included in the offer. The platform is said to provide enhancements for tailoring experiences by role, geography, and emerging skill sets.
Strategic focus
The company claims that with the next-generation platform, organisations can transform their workforce into what it refers to as a "Skillforce" that adapts to evolving demands, scales with AI, and connects skill development to measurable business objectives.
