Steve Boss appointed as senior VP of Global Core Sales

Steve Boss has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Global Core Sales at SmartBear.

SmartBear, a company specialising in software quality and visibility solutions, announced the appointment emphasising its commitment to enhancing customer value while addressing growing challenges faced by its clients in the software development sector. Steve Boss, previously Senior Vice President of Global Sales and General Manager at CB Insights, will now helm SmartBear's API and test management sales teams globally.

Melissa Campbell, Chief Revenue Officer at SmartBear, noted the pressures currently confronting development teams: "Steve joins SmartBear at a time of continued mounting pressures for development teams," Campbell said. "Before the rise of GenAI, teams were challenged with releasing software faster with fewer resources. The rapid adoption of AI has compounded these challenges with increased complexity. Boss has accumulated over two decades of experience in software as a service (SaaS) and technology sales, with a strong background in strategic leadership roles. At CB Insights, he integrated AI into sales processes to enhance both innovation and efficiency. His wide-ranging prior experience includes senior sales positions at GoTo, LogMeIn, Webex, Cisco, and Citrix, where he excelled in restructuring sales teams and implementing effective global go-to-market strategies.

In a related development, SmartBear has also promoted Fitz Nowlan to Vice President, AI and Architecture. Nowlan, who previously served as Director of Engineering, co-founded Reflect, an AI-powered provider recently integrated into SmartBear. The acquisition of Reflect has significantly improved SmartBear Test Hub, contributing to more efficient software delivery by development teams.

SmartBear's strategic focus involves unifying over 20 popular tools into solution hubs such as the SmartBear API Hub, SmartBear Insight Hub, and SmartBear Test Hub, which incorporate SmartBear HaloAI, the company's AI-driven capability. These offerings provide enhanced visibility and automation for global software development teams.
