Unlimit names Michele Fung as new head of Asia Pacific

Fri, 13th Feb 2026

Unlimit has appointed Michele Fung as Head of Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong, as the payments and financial services group looks to expand across high-growth markets.

Fung will lead Unlimit's regional strategy and day-to-day execution across Asia-Pacific. Her remit includes expanding the company's presence in key markets and increasing activity in higher-potential ones.

The appointment reflects a broader push by global payments firms to place senior leaders on the ground in Asia-Pacific as competition intensifies for local payment connections and regulatory access. Merchant demand has also risen as more businesses selling across borders seek local acquiring, treasury and compliance support.

Regional remit

Fung will focus on identifying market opportunities and building partnerships, including developing relationships with merchants, financial institutions and other ecosystem participants across the region.

Cross-border payments remains a crowded field in Asia-Pacific, with international firms competing alongside local payment providers and banks. Regulatory settings also vary sharply between markets, with licensing and compliance requirements shaping how quickly companies can launch and scale services.

Unlimit described Asia-Pacific as a key part of its growth plans and framed the appointment as a step towards deeper regional coverage.

"Michele's deep understanding of the APAC payments landscape and her proven ability to scale businesses across complex, multi-market environments make her a strong addition to our leadership team," said Kirill Eves, CEO and Founder of Unlimit. "Asia-Pacific is a strategically important region for Unlimit, and Michele's leadership will be instrumental as we continue our rapid growth and support customers operating seamlessly across borders."

Career background

Fung has more than a decade of experience in market entry, cross-border payments and partnership development, Unlimit said. She previously held senior roles at LianLian Global, where she led overseas expansion.

At LianLian Global, she helped build and scale the firm's Global Payout service, collaborating with global payment service providers and neobanks, according to the company. Unlimit also noted that she supported LianLian Global's growth as a strategic enterprise recognised by the Hong Kong government.

Fung is active in Hong Kong industry groups and serves as Co-Chair for Digital Banking and Payments at the Fintech Association of Hong Kong. She has also spoken at international fintech and compliance events, including Money20/20, Hong Kong FinTech Week and the Asian Financial Forum.

Product scope

Founded in 2009, Unlimit operates across payments and related financial services. It lists payment processing, multi-currency business accounts and banking-as-a-service among its offerings, and provides an on- and off-ramp fiat solution for crypto, DeFi and GameFi.

The group has more than 700 employees across 17 offices spanning five continents, including London, Singapore, San Francisco, São Paulo, Hong Kong and Mexico City.

Fung will align regional execution with Unlimit's global strategy. Her remit includes supporting enterprises with regulatory requirements across markets, cross-border payments and payouts, and access to local acquiring and treasury services.

Fung said the timing aligns with the company's global trajectory and its approach to combining local and international operations.

"I am excited to join Unlimit at a time of strong momentum for the business globally," said Michele Fung, Head of APAC at Unlimit. "Unlimit's commitment to combining local market expertise with a powerful global infrastructure strongly resonates with me, and I look forward to working with our partners and customers across APAC to help them scale with confidence and efficiency," she added.
